Discover How To Turn What You Already Know About Your Work, Hobby, Or Personal Interests Into A Million Dollar Information Products Empire!
|
This is an ongoing consultation that I did with a lady named Sherda. It seems that Sherda's dream to start an e-commerce site was shattered because the company that she hired for assistance not only did her many disservices, but cost her a great deal of money. At wits end, Sherda contacted me for advice.
I was so touched by her plight that I agreed to do a one-hour consultation with her to talk about her current e-commerce site's failure. We then talked at length about how to set up a successful business selling information products. This consultation is a treasure for anyone who is in a quandary about how to get ideas for an information product and how to turns those ideas into a reality and a success.
It all stems from identifying your "passion" and then implementing the ideas that I suggest to Sherda. The possibilities are endless! You will hear how a conversation starting out with a very discouraged Sherda turned into an exciting new adventure that she just couldn't wait to begin! Each part of this Flash Consultation is about 30 minutes.

How To Stop Working For $5 Per Hour And Learn To Leverage The Awesome Power Of Audio
Tim is a struggling home painter. Even though he works his butt off every day, he's really only taking home about $5 an hour after taxes and other expenses. He'd like to earn $100,000 a year but isn't sure how to go about doing it. So in this interview, you'll hear my business strategies for Tim that will turn his simple painting business into a high-end service provider. And with JV deals doing most the work, Tim will actually be working less while making a lot more. And these strategies can be used for any business, not just painting.
So over the next hour, you'll hear me tell Tim how to set himself up as the go-to guy for all of his customers' household needs from gardening and tile to electrical and drywall repair. If Tim sets up JV deals with many different kinds of businesses and collects a percentage from those referrals, he'll be making money for nothing and growing his business with little effort. But you have to know how to do it the right way.
So In This Interview, You'll Hear…
• How to set up a referral network
• Easy incentives that will entice homeowners to go with you for all of their household needs
• How to make sure you're getting paid for your JV deals
• How to check up on your affiliates to make sure they're giving your hard-earned customers the quality they deserve
• How to throw together a CD to easily promote you and your affiliates
• 14 of the best and cheapest ways I know for drumming up new leads
Tim works way too hard for $5 an hour, and I show him how he can end all of that. But the best part is, he'll be making more while working less. The trick for Tim is to use the time he's at the home owner's house to sell them on his affiliates' services. Then, he can just sit back and let other people do all the work while he collects 25%. How easy is that?

I Am A User Of (LSD)
|
The first thing you have to learn to make a great information product is you have to know the secret. And the secret for creating a successful information products is to use LSD, the real drug, a drug that will make you high. I call it love, service, and dedication.
If you get turned on with LSD, you won't need false drugs like you find pushed around the schools today. Because if you have love for your fellow man, service to mankind and dedication to yourself and your family to provide a better way for life.
I encourage you to listen to this consultation with Roy because contained in this recording you will hear about these secrets to be successful in your own business.
Roy had recently bought into a business opportunity for over $600 that came with a standard web site template. The web site was designed to sell a $19 book written by someone else. This $19 book's real purpose was to sell a higher end book as well as consulting for the price of approximately $3,000.
What would Roy get out of the deal? For every $19 book that his web site sold, he would receive half of the profit - no matter what he spent on marketing the book. He would not receive proceeds from any subsequent sales of the higher end book or consulting purchased.
As we talked, Roy begins to understand exactly who would make the money in this endeavor - and it wouldn't be Roy. This kind of business never sounds like a good idea to me. Listen as I try to sway Roy into creating his own Information Product where he would have total control of the product and would receive 100% of the profit.
We discuss reasons why Roy should spend his money and time developing and creating his own Information Product. We explore potential topics for his Information Product and how to determine what types of topics would be best for him to research.

Audio Infomercial Secrets
|
|
In this short audio, you'll meet Tony. Tony thought that face-to-face meetings were the best ways to generate leads. Of course, this meant he was chained to about an hour's drive of his house. And the worst part was -- once he'd finally get to the businesses in his area, he'd often find that the decision makers were busy, in a meeting or weren't even there. So, his long drives were actually getting him nowhere.
A while back, I suggested he automate his selling campaign by creating an audio infomercial and using it to generate leads.
So Tony interviewed his boss and created a hard-hitting audio infomercial. And that audio led to a whole new home-based approach that now includes the Internet, a letter-writing campaign with a free incentive CD, faxes, phone calls…and absolutely no driving!
And, it's working better than he ever thought possible.
He's already doubled his income, he's freed up his time by doing a lot less work and he's looking at new and exciting ways for expansion -- all from the privacy of his own home and mainly because of that audio infomercial.
And he says the best part of his new business approach is that he's only dealing with people who are already interested in his services. He's no longer trying to force people to become interested.
So sit back, relax and listen to how a simple audio helped one man turn his whole life around. Enjoy.

"How To Turn Your $28 Book Into A $3,900 Information Product..."
|
Meet an enterprising young man named Jamell who happened upon my site while he was researching marketing information on the Internet. Since finding site, www.HardToFindSeminars.com with all of its great, free content, he has been a avid listener and learner of the material that I provide.
Although he started his career in retail sales, Jamell was always drawn to the idea of entrepreneurship. He had been in and out of various businesses for about five years including MLM's, selling other people's products, and real estate. You will hear why he abandoned these endeavors when he made the realization that helping people to maximize their own potential was his passion - helping people start their own businesses and make money.
At the time Jamell contacted me, he was looking into the idea of private labeling either a vitamin or weight loss product. He has two partners in this endeavor, both of whom are life long friends of his.
As we discuss his partnership, Jamell confided that neither of his friends were pulling their weight in making this product a reality. Listen to my advice about how to graciously end this partnership while still maintaining the friendship and all of the reasons for doing so.
Back to the product: Jamell had found company that makes a vitamin that he would like to private label. However, you can really get this vitamin anywhere. My advice is not to pursue this venture. Your product must be unique. Additionally, you must think of the overhead you would need in terms of warehousing, shipping, order taking, returns, etc. How much would Jamell really make on every sale?
My ultimate advice was for Jamell to create and market an Information Product that he would totally control. Actually, he had already thought about this. He had several good ideas that you will hear in the audio. However, he was always slowed down by the technical aspects of Information Product development and marketing on the Internet.
It was then that I told Jamell about my newest product entitled How to Turn Your $28 Book into a $3900 Information Product. This new information product is totally risk-free in that the customer pays nothing when he downloads the product and is not charged until after 30 days. Any time during the free trial, if the customer doesn't like the product, he can contact me and will not be charged. I personally guarantee that with this new system, you will create an Information Product worth from $97 to $497 that is designed to sell like hotcakes!
For those people who have an idea but don't want to actually create the Information Product themselves, I now offer my Product Creation Package. I will create your Information Product as well as a free Internet Audio Infomercial which will be a hard-hitting recording designed to sell your product and can be put on a web site.
I know that Jamell is thinking about either of these products as ways to make his dreams a reality. If you would like more information on How to Turn Your $28 Book into a $3900 Information Product or the Product Creation Package.

How You Can Defeat Your Fear Of Failure
|
Here's a short consultation that I did with a delightful lady named Clara Davis. Clara's business is coaching people to start up their own home-based businesses. For years, she's been helping people practically for free but now she wants to start making some money.
After discovering my web site, www.HardToFindSeminars.com, she's decided that she'd like to model her web site after mine, not only with information about her services, but with free downloads and information for her viewers. She wanted my opinion about what to name her web site. Listen as we come up with a few great possibilities and the reasons why the name of her web site is so important.
She would still like to do free consultations over the telephone. You will hear us discuss the importance of recording these free telephone consultations for her web site as well as to create Information Products that she can sell.
Clara is in the process of revamping her business to include Marketing Consulting services. She states that her main problem is that people want her services for free and that she's having difficulty placing a dollar value on her services.
I encourage her to download the free Opportunity Analysis Worksheet from my web site - a tool used by HMA Consultants to determine if her prospects are qualified or not. We discuss the HMA System and how, by using it, she would be able to easily place a value on her coaching and consulting services
At the end of the call, Clara was so excited about her web site and adding Marketing Consulting to her suite of services. She promised to keep me posted on her progress and I hope that I hear from her soon. Enjoy!

How To Package Your Marketing Information
|
If you ever wondered what Michael Senoff would say about MLM opportunities, you've come to the right place!
Here is a short consultation that I did with a gentleman named Peter who has become a representative for an MLM company that sells food and vitamin supplements to promote better health.
The reason Peter called was because he wanted to know quicker, better ways to promote his MLM business - things seemed to be moving too slow for his needs. He had discovered a company that, for a handsome price, would not only show him the secrets to successful MLM marketing, but guarantee his success as well.
Now, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. Peter called me and asked what I thought and I gave him my opinion about this company's offer to sell him secrets. I also gave him my strong advice about the MLM industry.
My reviews about MLM opportunities are less than stellar, to put it mildly.
I, like most successful markers, began my career in an MLM organization. I believe that an MLM can be great training for the future entrepreneur. However, the truth is that very few people are successful enough to tout MLM's as the "end-all" to success beyond your wildest dreams.
I invite you to listen to this consultation and put yourself in Peter's place as I advise him about the pro's and con's of MLM's as well as the best alternative that I can think of for earning an honest dollar - namely, creating an information product that you, yourself, own and control.
So, after digesting this consultation with Peter, you will never need to ask me what I think about an MLM opportunity. You can assure yourself that I will simply tell you exactly what I told Peter. This recording is 15 minutes.

How To Sell Information By Mail
|
Here is a consultation that I did with a gentleman named John. John had purchased Jeff Paul's product on creating information products. He was almost overwhelmed with the volume of information that he received. Even so, John came up with a few ideas for information products and began to develop them. He wanted my opinions and advice on the steps necessary to successfully market his products.
The information product that would be most profitable for John was how to seal asphalt driveways
Listen in as I give John step-by-step instructions about how to develop and market his driveway sealing information product.
The steps that I outline for John can be applied to just about any information product that you can think of.
The second reason that I encourage you to listen is that you will realize how the steps to success are many and that they can become confusing in terms of what each step consists of and the order in which they should be executed.
There's a ton of great information in store for you in this recording so let's get started! This flash consultation is 55 minutes.

"Insider Information" - On Who's Really Making Money - Plus...
|
Here is a short flash consultation I did with a 17-year old gentleman named Jeremy. Jeremy had already dabbled in Internet selling. After listening to one of my recordings on www.hardtofindseminars.com, he decided to research ways to get into the joint venture market.
I was impressed that Jeremy was so intent on learning JV's and becoming successful so I talked with him and gave him my personal recommendations about ways that he could enter this type of enterprise.
We discussed why it is so very important to negotiate JV's so that when you create your own information product, it is totally under your control.
Jeremy expressed his interest in creating an information product containing interviews of the top sellers on Ebay. I thought this was a great idea, probed further, and gave my recommendations of how to entice these top Ebay sellers and negotiate JV deals with them. Basically, the sky is the limit once you have your product in hand. Getting the interview is the easy part!
I talk about how I am moving to downloadable digital media products myself to make life easier. We also discuss how a novice interviewer, like I once was, can quickly overcome nervousness and how audio files can be edited to make the interview extremely professional and both parties sound like senior members of the Toastmasters Club.
Finally, Jeremy and I touch upon different audio interview packaging options once you have the products.
-
Sell one or sell all at once.
-
Have an audio "club" where customers buy a subscription to receive one or more new audios every month.
-
Creating upsells.
-
Selling the resale rights to your audios and my recommendations of what should be included in those audios to bring some customers back home to you, the original source.
This is a great interview for any person wanting to get into joint ventures and/or for someone who is considering creating information products from audio interviews. If you're one of these people, I know that you will come away from this recording with a new confidence in your own knowledge and abilities. Recording 20 minutes.

When Your Looking For A Hand, Try Looking At The End Of Your Arm
|
Ken was working for an insurance company as a sales representative selling annuity products. His ultimate goal was to have his own business as a financial planner but he needed to save up some money first.
He found my web site address, www.hardtofindseminars.com, on Ebay when he was looking for pre-owned Jay Abraham materials. When he went to my web site and saw that I offered free 15-minute consultations, he thought, "Why not?" and called my office. It's funny because Ken was incredulous that I actually called him back. He never expected that my free consultation was real!
I discovered the reason that Ken had been looking for Jay Abraham materials was that he was having great difficulties finding prospective customers for the insurance products he was selling. He wasn't making any money and was getting further away from realizing his dream of becoming a financial planner.
In this recording, you will hear some ideas I had for Ken regarding lead generation. It all boils down to this: Use other people's leads because it's easier and cheaper! Let someone else do all the expensive advertising! Let someone else spend the time and energy pounding the pavement!
It turns out that before Ken had gotten into the insurance industry, he had owned and operated a dry cleaning establishment. He still had his list of former customers. Bingo! Why not write a personalized letter to these former dry cleaning customers telling the compelling story of how he got into the insurance business and promote his annuity products to them?
You'll hear my advice about how the letter could be worded, what types of material could be included with the letter, and how the letter should be mailed. It's great hearing how excited Ken got over this idea!
Finally, Ken and I talked about the great audio interviews that I have on my web site. These audios and accompanying transcriptions contain invaluable information on many subjects and best of all - they are FREE. I told Ken of one audio that is specific to the insurance industry that might help him to achieve success. This flash recording is 15 minutes. This recording is 22 minutes.

Unique Mobile Billboard Business Needs
Tailor-made Marketing Plan
|
In this audio, you'll meet Anthony. Anthony has been actively trying to drum up sales for his mobile billboard business but is barely breaking even every month. Even though he has an innovative new business and some great testimonial letters, he still finds that most people aren't interested in advertising on his truck. So he's come to me to take a look at his stagnant situation.
During the consultation, I take Anthony through an opportunity analysis where I recommend he stop pounding the pavement making ineffective cold calls and start making his sales targeted and automated. Together Anthony and I dissect his situation, analyze the weaknesses and strengths and uncover doable solutions that make sense for him.
As it turns out, Anthony's biggest asset also seems to be his biggest problem - the novelty of the mobile billboard. Because it's a new idea, Anthony finds that people are interested in it but are also afraid to take a chance on an advertising medium they know little about. So, I give Anthony some ideas on how to educate consumers about the benefits of his business, relieve their fears and effectively get his word out.
We also talk about…
• How to put together a consumer report that will inform and intrigue
• Ways to use direct sales, an 800 number
• Great places to find data lists, 800 numbers and free publicity
• How to use joint venture deals to significantly grow his business
• Ways to ease consumers' fears by eliminating risks
• How to use bartering to turn "down time" into peak time
• And much more
When I do a consultation, I don't just bring my expertise to the table. I also bring a wealth of resources that I've compiled over the years. So during an audio consultation, you'll usually hear me refer to relevant websites and recordings that I know the client will benefit from. And I send the client links to those references after the interview. For this particular consultation, I sent Anthony a compilation of about 15 different resources that he'll be able to look through at his convenience. So not only did he receive around an hour and a half of my time, he also received a copy of this recording and a tailor-made reference file.
Sometimes significant growth isn't achieved by improving one area by a lot, but by improving many areas by a little bit each. Anthony has already begun taking the necessary steps for growth, so I'm sure it won't be long before his mobile billboard business is moving just the way he wants it to be. The Right Words
|
Evan is the Web Master and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert for a successful medium-sized firm in Sydney, Australia. He loves what he does but is in a quandary. Although he loves what he does, should he make the change to consulting, building upon an existing e-commerce web site owned and operated by himself and his fiancée, or bring some type information product to the market? In Evan's words, "I'm going four different ways at once!"
This is an consulting interview that I did with Evan to try to help him to determine what he believes would be the best avenue. It's nice to have so many options!
We discussed his current job responsibilities and he admits that being involved in so many of his employer's integral functions is his first love. He makes a very good living, but are there better opportunities "out there" for a young man of Evan's advanced and very marketable resources?
Evan explains his and his fiancee's web site. You will hear how it came to be and what its current status is. I give Evan some ideas about how to market the web site and its products more effectively. You will hear some advice that I give him about creating an information product that would actually draw buyers to the site. I also give him my personal opinion about selling products that are commodities.
Lastly, we talk about Evan's idea of becoming a consultant. After listening to so many of my audio recordings on www.hardtofindseminars.com, Evan had been leaning towards becoming an HMA Consultant. This is a great idea, but let's go a step further. How about using the HMA techniques to create a consulting niche that Evan and his specialized expertise could fill, namely Search Engine Optimization and Information Technology functions?
I don't want to give too much of this interview away but let's suffice to say that if you're on the fence about your career options, you should really listen to this informative interview. You may find yourself saying, "This guy sounds like me! Maybe I should…?" This recording is 36 minutes.

There Are 3 Secrets To Direct Mail Success. (And You Already Know 2 Of Them.)
|
This is a follow-up consultation that I did with Eric B. Eric's first business didn't work out for reasons beyond his control, but that didn't keep Eric's mind from reeling with ideas for direct mail businesses that he wanted to bounce off of me and questions that he had about the various steps necessary to set up his new business.
In Eric's excitement, his first questions were about product fulfillment and credit card processors. You will hear my suggestions about these, but what he should do first in terms of setting up a business DBA and a business account at the bank.
Throughout this consultation, you will hear how I stress the importance of creating a successful sales letter. It's all in the marketing.
-
What constitutes a great sales letter
-
Options for hiring a good copywriter, if necessary
-
Mailing lists
-
What are Hot Lines and why they are so very important?
We touch on the packaging and pricing of products and how offering products through auto-ship can be lucrative. I offer some "do's" and "don'ts" about product trial offers that Eric had been considering.
I give Eric the formula of how to initially test a sales letter and how to tell if you've got a winner on your hands.
We get into detail about what your product should actually cost you and what the shipping and handling costs to the customer should include.
For a business just starting out, it is important to be available to answer each and every customer call so as not to lose a sale. Here's where I give Eric some ideas of very inexpensive services that he can use so he not only does not miss a customer call, but can actually continue his research of the market by talking with potential customers.
A few gems offered in this interview are resources that have archives of previous sales letter and ad material that a person can look at, buy, or buy the rights to. If researched and utilized correctly, this type of material would practically eliminate your need for a high-priced copywriter!
We finally talk about how, instead of starting his own business, how Eric could actually become a consultant to existing businesses who already have their infrastructure built. With Eric's business knowledge, great sales letters, and ad material, he could become a consultant and negotiate consulting fees or actually buying a percentage of the company based on his performance in obtaining more sales. Why have the headaches of starting and maintaining your own new business when you can be the brains behind making more businesses successful and eventually becoming a part owner or entire owner of that business?
This is an eye-opening consultation for a person who is considering starting a new direct mail business. Eric and I went through the details step-by-step for an easy to follow outline for success. Even if you are a veteran direct mail marketer, you won't want to miss this. Enjoy! More like this here

Here's How To Create A Hot Selling Information Product On Any Subject
|
I absolutely enjoy talking with intelligent young people with an entrepreneurial spirit! Although being an entrepreneur may be innate to their personalities, they may not have had the opportunity to study the "in's and out's" of various aspects of operating a successful business. When this is the case, their minds are like sponges when I give them advice or spring new ideas on them that could help them or at least to get them into the habit of thinking in different ways.
Here is an interview/consultation that I did with Kyle. Kyle is a burgeoning cartoonist and illustrator based in southern California. He and I had talked before about his business and he was just touching base with me about an absolutely new business idea that he came up with as well as the state of his cartoonist business.
Listen to his innovative idea about joint venturing with florists to sell more flowers during the usually slower times of the year. We discussed sales letters, who to mail the letters to in a test, and an inexpensive way to obtain leads for your test mailing. By measuring and analyzing the test results, Kyle's system could be presented to local florists. You will hear my suggestion about creating an information product that could be sent to florists all around the country presenting successful joint ventures.
You will also hear about utilizing a 100% online service offered by the United States Postal Service whereby you provide them with your sales letter and your database of leads. The Post Office will then print the letters, stuff them into windowed envelopes, and send them to the people in your database.
The remaining portion of the recording deals with Kyle's cartoonist and illustration business. He was in a quandary because, since his niche is making presentations to school assemblies, times are very slow in the summer when school is not in session.
I give him some ideas:
-
Approaching private summer camps to make presentations or conduct classes.
-
Creating joint ventures with other people doing assemblies in non-competitive industries to endorse one another to each person's customer list.
-
How Kyle could offer private or group illustration lessons by making calls to his existing customer list.

Possible side businesses and joint venturing to fill the gap until schools are back in session.
Right now, the sky is the limit with Kyle. He told me that he was going to follow through with some of the ideas we talked about and promised to get back to me with his stories of success. This recording is 25 minutes long.

Making Hard Decisions With Soft Information
|
One of the things that I like best in life is helping people - especially helping people with ideas on how to start their own businesses and how to make money. Mark Cook called me requesting some answers to the list of questions below.
-
What kinds of information products could he create and sell?
-
What did I think about his plan to get a piece of the sales of automobiles?
-
What did I think about his plan to get a piece of sales in the travel industry?
-
Whose information products pertaining to marketing could he sell? Mine, perhaps?
-
He asks more about lead generation in different types of industries but tells me that he has no idea what he would sell. This is known as putting the cart before the horse.
-
I tell him that he should learn more about marketing and suggest studying Jay Abraham or listening to the many audios that are on my web site for free.
-
I give him ideas about how to assist sellers of high priced items, such as seminarss, to make the sale and give him a percentage.
-
What do I think about franchises? I give him several ideas about getting a piece of franchise opportunities (i.e. marketing) and he asks who he would sell to?
-
What do I think about someone else's marketing course?
-
What do I think about lead generation using his local Chamber of Commerce?
With every question that Mark asked, I gave him my best advice and even offered to assist him with resources where he could learn more. Yet, I was disappointed because it seemed that none of my advice was taking root with him.
Listen to the consultation and you decide. Any comments you have would be appreciated. You can send me an email at Contact Us.
You often hear me say that creating your own information product and marketing it properly is a great business for just about anyone. However, I want to emphasize that starting any business is hard work. It requires good planning, lots of research, precise execution, and effective marketing. There is no easy way and there are no free rides.
I am always happy to assist people to realize their dreams, but please take note of my advice because it contains many keys to proven success that have been kindly shared with me from business moguls and marketing geniuses. This recording is 30 minutes. Enjoy.

Conquer The "Information Age" With The Most Powerful Weapon Ever Discovered For Selling Information
|
If you are a frequent visitor to my web site, www.hardtofindseminars.com, you will be familiar with the advice I give to many people looking to start a business but don't know what to sell: I always say that the best way to create an information product is to base it on your "passion," right?
Well, here's a consultation I did with a gentleman named Dwight. He definitely has a passion! His passion is the art of Jeet Kune Do, the martial arts technique developed by the legendary Master, Bruce Lee.
Dwight currently owns and operates a successful Jeet Kune Do studio. Yet, Dwight would like to inspire more people about the art of Jeet Kune Do by creating a web site in the format very similar to my own www.hardtofindseminars.com, with interviews with martial arts experts as well as information products to sell as CD's, DVD's, and downloads.
Dwight wanted my help on how to become more organized in order to develop his web site. We discuss matters such as:
-
How to entice other Jeet Kune Do "gurus' to be interviewed by him so that these interviews could be available on his web site.
-
Reasons to give potential interviewees about why it would behoove them to be interviewed.
-
If the potential interviewee has a product, how to develop a successful joint venture with them.
I advise Dwight on the most effective recording devices to obtain for his interviews. Additionally, we discuss the importance of editing the raw audio to create highly polished, professional information products. We also touch upon some great Internet search engine optimization techniques that will draw more people to his web site.
Near the end of the interview, Dwight shares some anecdotes that explain exactly why Bruce Lee is such a legend and what still makes him considered "The Greatest" martial arts expert of modern time.
This is a "must listen" interview! Not only will you be able to hear me advise Dwight on how to achieve his goals, but you will hear the excitement in Dwight's voice when he teaches me the history of Bruce Lee and the art of Jeet Kune Do. It's not only educational, but fun! This recording is 36 minutes.

A Little Mistake That Cost An Advertising Sales Rep $60,000 A Year
|
Here is a consultation that I did with a gentleman by the name of Dale King. Dale had gotten into the billboard business. He had purchased and upgraded a sophisticated electronic billboard that he placed in a popular hotel to advertise local retailers.
Dale explains that, although his billboard can advertise up to one hundred retailers, he only obtained less a dozen advertisers when he first began his business. Additionally, since he found his customers through cold calling, it was back-breaking, unrewarding work that has not even allowed Dale to make his initial investment back.
In his frustration, Dale thought that I might have some suggestions for him to make the billboard business a success. He wanted to know how to sell more ads - and quickly.
We discussed the options of both telemarketing and direct mail. For telemarketing, we covered the following important elements:
-
Finding someone to do his telemarketing for him at a very reasonable cost.
-
How to monitor your telemarketer to ensure that their job is being done properly.
-
How to develop a "script" that your telemarketer can use when contacting prospects.
For direct mail, we discussed:
-
The importance of a great sales letter.
-
How to create a great sales letter.
-
How investing in a good copywriter can get you more sales.
Dale is also involved in outdoor billboards in and out of his immediate geographic area. You will hear how you can apply the same direct mail principles to this type of business for maximum sales results.
Finally, Dale discusses his other business of buying annuities. You will learn how buying annuities can generate income but how difficult it is to find annuities to purchase. You will ultimately hear my advice to Dale with regard to his annuity business.
This is a very interesting consultation for anyone who wants to start a business or for someone who is looking to increase sales in an existing business. The problems, solutions, and ideas that Dale and I discuss can be applied to just about any type of business. This is a call that will get your creative juices flowing as you think about applying some of these ideas to your own personal situation. Enjoy. This recording is 16 minutes.

Although Bruce's business is profitable, he wants to take it to the next step by implementing some marketing techniques in order to increase his revenues.
He found www.hardtofindseminars.com through a marketing forum and liked what he saw in the way of the immense cache of free materials that I have available. He was also very, very curious about this Jay Abraham fellow who I talk about so much. Bruce decided to give me a call to learn more.
In this recording, you'll hear about Bruce's business, his competition, how he is using pay-per-click services on search engines to drive people to his web site, and how those pay-per-click charges are really eating away at his revenues.
Bruce is my perfect customer. He is a business person in need of good advice and great marketing techniques that he could use to grow his business and to beat his competition.
You will hear me discuss just a few of the techniques taught by Jay Abraham that make so much sense and that are so doable. Bruce becomes so eager to purchase some of my pre-owned Jay Abraham materials that he practically makes the sale himself. All I had to do was to be a good listener, give some good honest advice, and talk a bit about some of Jay Abraham's successful techniques!
See how easy it is to sell consulting services and products to the right person - a person hungry to grow his or her business and who is open to learning and implementing new ideas. I hope you enjoy it.

Melvin Pitts called and wanted to discuss strategies for developing and marketing an information product for mortgage brokers. About 10 minutes into the conversation it became obvious, even to an un-enlightened un-self-actualized guy like me, that Melvin's interests and passion did not lie in the mortgage brokerage industry. His passion is in dancing. He casually tells me he has danced on five major network shows including Oprah and the Phil Donahugh show.
He says in a crowded public place he can do a few dance moves and within ten seconds he'll have a captive crowd swarming around him like bees on honey. Considering the amount of time and energy you spent with the people you are trying to sell to. It is very important your product or service excites you. All of us have so much information in our heads and we don't even realize how valuable it is until we take the time to analyze it.
Thinking critically about our talents and unique capabilities often helps us rediscover our true passion. Is there any better way to earn a living than doing what you love to do? No, and this is what Melvin discovers in our conversation. You don't have to be Oprah or Dr. Phil to appreciate the importance of passion in one's profession - listen as I help Melvin find his way and hopefully you too will rediscover the sleeping beauty in you. Recorded on 08-02-03.

Advice In "Kick Starting" Your Copywriting Business
|
This is a consultation that I did with a gentleman named Mark who needed some advice in "kick starting" is copywriting business. This short recording is packed with great information for new and veteran copywriters! You may get some ideas for business avenues that you haven't thought of before.
At the beginning of our conversation, Mark was mainly concerned about what the name of his copywriting business should be. His first thought was to use his surname. However, he believed that his surname might be too unusual for someone to pronounce. You'll hear how we discuss sole proprietorships and the option of incorporating after getting started, obtaining customers, and making some money. Find out what Mark finally decides to use as his business name.
Listen as I give Mark an idea about obtaining copywriting work by researching Ebay. Look for closed auctions for big ticket items where the item did not sell. Look at the Ebay ad to see what could have made the item sell. Sometimes it is simply because there was no research done on the item and thus, there was not a good description of the item or its features.
Contact the seller by email and negotiate to re-write the ad and re-run the auction. If the item sells, you would get a negotiated percentage of the sales price. Of course, you would need an option agreement and some sort of non-disclosure agreement as well as software that would prohibit the seller from printing or copying your ad - but you'll hear me explain the details of everything you would need to accomplish this. Listen as I give example of a generic email that could be modified for any auction and sent to sellers.
I advise Mark to research unsuccessful closed auctions for boats, houses, machinery, and other high priced items. And don't just stay with Ebay. Look into the real estate market for beautiful home that just aren't selling. Most of the time, real estate ads just don't do a good enough job of explaining the real advantages of owning that particular home. The very best way to advertise a home is to interview the current homeowner about the home itself, the neighborhood, the schools, etc. - important things that real families are interested in.
Listen to my own experience with using written copy in conjunction with audio for both a product and for real estate.
Mark certainly loved that idea and was going to start researching completed auctions for big ticket items on Ebay right away! The key is to identify poor ads for great products. You must also learn to negotiate well and then you will have a great niche market!

A Surprising New Discovery For Those Who've Always Suspected They Had The "Right Stuff To Succeed In Their Own Businesses... But Who Haven't Yet Quite Got Going
|
A gentleman by the name of Louis contacted me for advice about how to successfully market a new product that is to be used in his professional home cleaning restoration business. This product easily and successfully removes odors from smoke damage incurred from fires in the home.
Louis stated that he had purchased the rights to market this odor removal product in the United States for his type of business - only.
When I inquired about what he paid for these "exclusive" rights, Louis reluctantly admitted that he had paid a whopping $50,000! I also discovered that Louis' exclusive agreement entitled him to purchase the product from the manufacturer for about 50% less than retail price.
It pained me to tell Louis that he was being gouged. With this pricing set-up, Louis' margins were such that he couldn't ever realize great success. You will hear me explain what the margins of a chemical product actually should be and how he could accomplish more lucrative margins.
As if this wasn't bad enough, the manufacturer packages the product for Louis. Although Louis' brand name is on the product, the name of the manufacturer is also on the product. With this, Louis does not have the total control over the product that he really needs. Anyone could see the manufacturer's name and then go around Louis to purchase the same product for a lower price - and there goes his unenviable margin to boot.
The main ingredient of the product has not been patented which means that the same odor removal product could be formulated elsewhere at Louis' request. Listen as I suggested that Louis work to get his money back and contact another formulator so that Louis has total control.
We then discuss the actual marketing of the product, whether he uses his current source or develops his own product. You will hear me stress the importance of a Unique Selling Proposition: Why should someone buy Louis' product rather than that of a competitor?
I give him some ideas for possible USP items and point out many options that he would have if he had exclusive control over his own product.
I know that I didn't tell Louis what he wanted to hear. However, I feel that I told Louis what he needed to hear in order to succeed with this or any other product.
This recording is a good lesson for anyone who is thinking of starting a business with a product. You need a well thought out USP and, most important, you need TOTAL CONTROL of your own product! Learn and enjoy!
